Coming into therapy and allowing yourself to be vulnerable can be a very difficult decision to make. However, I also believe that this can be one of the more rewarding decisions one can make. I consider it a great privilege to work alongside people who are courageous enough to come to therapy, and to be able to help guide them in their journey of healing and growth. One of my highest priorities is that you feel comfortable, safe and free from judgment when we are working together along this journey.
Carl Jung once wrote that “the shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.” In alignment with this, I believe that therapy should be tailored to an individual’s unique life experiences in order to be most effective. As such, I draw from multiple modalities when working with others, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness skills. I also believe in the value of learning skills to prevent and manage chronic stress; which is usually evident in us all to some degree or another. I see my job as working collaboratively with you every step of the way in helping you identify your goals for treatment and to help you to work towards bringing them to fruition.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who graduated from Boston College School of Social Work. Some of the areas I have experience working in include substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and grief and loss. I look forward to our work together!
